Here is an amazing cabinet size specimen of Neptunite with Joaquinite crystals. This is a wonderfully aesthetic specimen of these two minerals. This specimen comes from The Benitoite Gem Mine, which was originally called the Dallas Mine and now called the California State Gem Mine, in San Benito County. California. It is the only place in the world that these mineral can be found together, and the only place in the world that gem and specimen quality benitoite is found.

This is a beautiful two mineral specimen. Beautiful, high luster, well terminated crystals of Neptunite, both large and micro are on top of and within a blanket of snowy white Natrolite atop of a greenish blue schist. The largest neptunite crystal measures approx. 2 cm. long. Many double terminated crystals. Only one neptunite crystal shows contact or damage. There are some micro joaquinite crystals present on top of the natrolite, which means these are floaters, since you usually find them only on the surface of the matrix.

The specimen measures approx. 10.38 cm x 3.78 cm x 3.41 cm thick.

The crystals are well spaced out across the matrix so that they can be easily seen.

Overall a very nice, showy, 3D looking specimen.

This specimen is mounted on an acrylic base with mineral tack for easy removal and comes with an Identification card.
