Sapphire & 14k Yellow Gold Scarf Pin with Original Box

For my friends who love antique Jewelry, check out this piece of California History.
Whenever I find early Shreve & Co. of San Francisco pieces with blue gemstones, I try to acquire them.
From about 1907 to 1912, they used benitoite in some of their jewelry pieces.
Well this piece does not have benitoite, but it has a deep blue sapphire.
In this time frame, Shreve & Co. mostly used Montana Yogo Sapphires for their pieces,
since at the time they were a great source for domestic deep blue sapphire.
So although I believe this is a Yogo sapphire, it has not been confirmed.
The sapphire at the center is approx. .25 cts, maybe a little larger.
The pin is all 14K yellow gold, which is 6.7 cm long, the head of the pin is approx. 1.73 cm x 1.0 cm.
The original box is also a real find.
It is covered in Burgundy red velvet, it has a Mother of Pearl release button on the end that still functions.
On the inside is stamped Shreve & Co. San Francisco in gold lettering.
Overall a beautiful piece of Antique Jewelry, about as original as you will find.
