Large Spinel Crystal / cluster, Unknown Origin

Here is a pretty amazing large spinel from an old collection.
This is a Spinel cluster is made up of one very large crystal crystal along with some smaller inter-grown ones.
On the back side, it looks like the large crystal melted away and only hundreds of tiny spinel crystal octahedron were left. Very interesting etched face surfaces.
The color looks brown mostly, but upon close inspection the color is purple and pink.
