Here is a beautiful faceted benitoite gemstone.
Faceted Benitoite like this one, over 1 carat are near impossible to come by these days.
This gem is eye clean, using a 10X loupe,
there is a slight inclusions well hidden and can only be seen using magnification.
The color is a beautiful benitoite light blue with violet.
Due to the pleochroic nature of Benitoite, the stone can appear lighter,
darker or almost colorless, depending on the light and viewing angle.
This beauty has great fire in the sunlight.
For those of you that are not familiar with Benitoite, this gem is a true All American Gemstone!
All other species of minerals that gems are cut from, can be found in different locations either within this country or around the world,
however Gem Quality Benitoite is ONLY found in one very small area in California,
which is also why it is the California State Gemstone, and considered one of the, if not the, rarest gemstone in the world!
