Here is a beautiful faceted benitoite gemstone.
The color is a beautiful benitoite medium blue with violet. The lighter colors have such great fire in the sunlight.
Due to the pleochroic nature of Benitoite, the stone can appear lighter, darker or almost colorless, depending on the light and viewing angle.
This gem is very eye clean. Using magnification, I cannot find any inclusions.
Anything seen on the surface of the stone in the photos, is just specks of dust.
Overall a really beautiful rare gemstone.
For those of you that are not familiar with Benitoite, this gem is a true All American Gemstone!
All other species of minerals that gems are cut from, can be found in different locations either within this country or around the world,
however Gem Quality Benitoite is ONLY found in one very small area in California,
which is also why it is the California State Gemstone, and considered one of the, if not the, rarest gemstone in the world!
With the color of the finest Sapphire and more dispersion than diamond, Benitoite has no rival!
