These beautiful gems come from the Rhodochrosite that was recovered from the newer Detroit City Portal of the Sweet Home Mine.
With the formal announcement of the permanent closing of the Detroit City Portal of the Sweet Home Mine,
these cut gems are just going to go up in price as collectors want them more now.
These are precision cut as you will see, and some of the finest cut Sweet Home Rhodos I have come across.
These gems are eye clean, with a 10x loupe, some slight inclusions can be seen.
In indoor lighting it can look reddish pink, a more salmon coloring, or even a more orangey color.
The photos show two different lighting types to help show the color shift.
In the sunlight this stone is so brilliant and dispersive.
Who knew that Rhodochrosite showed such great brilliance and color dispersion!
