This specimen comes from an old collection.
This specimen has good form and color for any locality, but especially attractive for a U.S. specimen of this type. This specimen consists of large scepter head, sharp, well formed, partially skeletal crystals with defined smoky and amethyst bi color zoning. It looks as if 2 scepter head grew together in the pocket. It has a large gemmy area of wonderful amethyst coloring. The specimen overall has great luster, with a few frosted terminated faces. For the most part, the majority of the crystal is completely crystallized, but it does have some roughness on the back and bottom of the specimen. 
There is one chip on the top termination above the amethyst zone, but does not distract from the overall look and quality of this specimen. Just below the amethyst zone, it looks like the crystal is damaged, but it is not, just flaws within the crystal.

Overall an amazing specimen from this locality.
