Here is a very special specimen of Benitoite crystals.
This is a cluster of partially crossite included Benitoite crystals.
What makes this one of special, is the size of the main crystal.
It is believed that the inclusions of crossite, allowed the benitoite crystals to grow larger than others,
as all of the largest benitoite crystals found are crossite included.
At a hair under 3 cm across, 2.9 x 2.6 x 1.23 cm to be exact,
these very larger benitoite crystals are near impossible to find.
The largest crystal is fully formed with great shape, except for areas where there was contact with the crossite.
It has some gem areas in it, as well as a few of the other smaller crystals.
Overall an attractive and unique specimen of this rather rare mineral.
