Here is a beautiful specimen of Neptunite crystals with Djurlelite & Digenite on natrolite.
The main focal point of the specimen are the two crystals of neptunite.
The most noteable is a large double terminated and twinned crystal that is 3.7 cm long and 9 mm thick.
It is well formed, has very high luster faces and near perfect,
with just slight contact on one top termination face. The contact allows you to see the true color of neptunite, which is the deepest of red colors.
The smaller crystal has a sharp, perfect termination, with high luster.
The matrix is covered in white natrolite and the small black spots seen around the natrolite are crystals of djurleite and digenite.
These can be seen close to the contact point between the natrolite and the matrix. They are also present on the back side of the specimen.
This specimen comes from the only place in the world, these 3 minerals can be found together.
The coloring of the crystals along with the white natrolite, gives a great visual contrast.
