Here is a nice, rather large, tabular hexagonal sapphire crystal from this well-known quarry. 

A great specimen, not cuttable, but could be a good candidate for a carving.

It has some rich sapphire blue color which does allow light to show through in areas.

Upon very close inspection, the transparent and translucent areas appear to be made up of thousands of small clean sapphire.

Three edges of this impressive crystal are sharp showing good form, with the others being contacted or weathered.

Some gray corundum is also visible giving the crystal a bi-colored look from the front, however there appears to be more of the gray sapphire in the rear. 

This is an excellent, very substantial, LARGE sapphire for the locale. Stands on it's own for a nice display.
