Here is a great specimen Of Rhodolite garnet in matrix from North Carolina.
It comes out of an old East Coast collection, but had no card, only a notation North Carolina.
Thought to come from the Jabobs Ruby Mine in Macon County, but there are so many garnet localities in N.C., that it is hard to know for sure.
The specimen is covered with these rosey pinkish purple garnet that seem to flow through the matrix, combined with a lot of lepidolite and Phlogopite Mica.
Overall a great reference example from the region.
