Grossular Garnet aka "Raspberry Garnet"

Here is very nice specimen of what has come to be called Raspberry Garnet, from Mexico.
These grossular variety of garnet have beautiful color and contrast sitting in the white matrix.
It has great coverage and is filled with garnet of differing sizes.
Many of the garnet are complete, some are only partial, pretty common with this mineral and locale.
The largest of these garnet sits atop of the specimen and measures approx. 1.7 cm.
The garnet all have beautiful translucency, and also show dim red fluorescence in longwave UV lighting
while the matrix shows spots of orange and yellow fluorescence.
The bottom is dense and cut flat for display, the top of the matrix is a bit loose, and does shed a bit.
Overall a beautiful specimen.
