Here is a wonderful piece of Mineral Collecting History.
Albert Edward Foote, [1846–1895], M. D., Naturalist,
was one of America's most famous early mineral dealers.
By the time of his death, he had the largest cataloged collection of minerals, most self collected.
After his death, his son Warren followed in his fathers footsteps, to brings specimens from around America and the world to collectors.
Here are 2 specimens from the same early collection,
of what was once called "Amazon Stone" now known as Amazonite.
These 2 piece appear to have the original dirt on them as well,
would not want to chance cleaning them and destroying the label.
Both are Amazonite with smoky quartz, or as the old label says "Amazon Stone".
