Magnesio Axinite Crystal, Merelani Hills, Tanzania
3.0 cm x 2.26 cm x 4.0 mm, 4.05 gr / 20.28 cts.
Hear is a nice crystal of a very rare variety of the mineral Axinite.
This has only been found in one very small area of Tanzania. Although this flat crystal has some contact, it has some nice coloring and faces with interesting growth patterns as seen in the photos.
The bi-coloring of orangy brown with violet edges, really gives it a great look.
It shows some color change under differing light sources and is highly fluorescent long and shortwave UV light.
