Here is an outstanding small cabinet specimen of wonderfully lustrous,
sparkling orangy terminated crystals of Orpiment to 2.0 cm.
It comes with the early original label from Collectors Edge,
which has a "Orpiment care and handling" warning on the back.
Specimens from this older find, redefined this species in terms of quality.
Orpiment is a deep-colored, orange-yellow arsenic sulfide mineral.
The color looks more butterscotch depending on the lighting.
It has amazing translucent to transparent well formed crystals.
Very minor rubbing is present along the edges of the piece,
and some very slight micro chatter to a few crystal tips.
Due to it being a very soft mineral,
I feel that this an extremely good specimen damage-wise for this species!
