Out of an old collection comes this really fine and aesthetic sturmanite miniature
from the N’Chwaning II Mine.
Very hard to locate such a fine example.
This is a very 3-dimensional specimen with large, inter-grown disc-shaped crystals up to 2 cm.
Sturmanite is a type locality for the Kalahari Manganese Fields.
This specimen exhibits a couple of examples of the iconic crystal shape for sturmanite.
It has beautiful hexagonal, honey-brown crystals inter-grown on a piece of micro druzy quartz coated matrix.
The crystals shows an interesting concentric zoning and are mostly transparent.
