Here is a really nice specimen of Red Beryl on Rhyolite Matrix.
The Only locale for gem quality red beryl, and crystals this large is the Wah Wah Mountains in Utah.
It has a single crystal of red beryl on the rhyolite, that measures 1.28 cm long.
The crystal is double terminated, has good hexagonal form, with both ends having rhyolite inclusions to some extent.
The center of the crystal is gemmy, showing deep red coloring.
Overall a very nice specimen with a larger than average crystal.
