Large Red Beryl Crystal on Rhyolite

Here is a great specimen of red beryl in rhyolite matrix.
Commonly refered to as "Bubble gum", these large types of red beryl crystals are rhyolite included.
It is believed that the amount of rhyolite inclusion is what helps crystals such as this gain their size.
This single large red beryl crystal measures 2.26 cm x 1.48 cm.
The specimen weighs 21.6 grams / 108 carats in total. This large red beryl crystal must weigh 50+ carats.
The crystal has great hexagonal shape and is double terminated, though both termination had interrupted growth.
The crystal could be removed from the rhyolite with some work,
but it's not often to find these large crystals still attached to the rhyolite.
