Here is a wonderful specimen of sphalerite with calcite and pyrite from this amazing locale.
This specimens comes from the 4051' level.
This level is special, as the sphalerite on this level fluoreses an orange color in longwave UV lighting.
Quite an interesting multi layered looking specimen.
The sphalerite crystals are a beautiful golden yellow color.
The matrix is a dense mix of pyrite, zinc and calcite, with a vein of calcite running through it that glows pink in UV lighting.
There also appears to have a few small crystals of anhydrite in the clusters of sphalerite crystals.
The sphalerite have great color and luster.
There are some dings to some of these crystals, but overall in great shape.
