Large Spinel Crystal, Twinned, Unknown Origin

This is a one very nice, large spinel crystal. The twinning of this crystal is pretty amazing.
The surface has some wild growth and etching, included a pretty interesting feature that appears to be a negative face.
The color is hard to determine to the eye. At first glance looks to be dark blue, but upon closer inspection, it then looks purple, red in areas, but when back lit, appears to be orange.
