Rubellite Tourmaline on Quartz

Out of an older collection comes this wonderful specimen.
It is a large grouping of rubellite tourmaline and quartz.
This is not the normal, mushroom like tourmaline found from this region.
The specimen is double sided, making it hard to decide which is the front and which is the back.
The specimen looks just like it did when it came out of the pocket.
One side is almost entirely made of of tourmaline crystals all held together with quartz.
These tourmaline crystals are all small but elongated like most tourmaline crystals.
The other side shows large quartz crystals up to 2.5 cm, and almost all of the quartz crystals are double terminated.
This side is lined along the edges with tourmaline crystals, just not as much as the other side.
One slight ding to the top of one of the quartz crystals, but other than that there is no damage.
A beautiful miniature specimen from this region.
