From the famed El dorado Bar along the Missouri River near Helena, Montana, and Rock Creek in the Sapphire mountians. each Sapphire Party Pack contains about 2 pounds of Sapphire Gravel Concentrate from both regions.
This is the perfect party size for the kids! Perfect size for one child or two kids to share.
Concentrate means that all of the gravel is screened to remove the large rock. It is then put into piles for us to pick up or have shipped to us. Perfect for home mining!
This gravel is filled with great colorful river worn rock from the Missouri River. You might find other types of minerals with your sapphire.
Eldorado Bar sapphire comes in all shapes, sizes and colors. The most common colors are blue, green & clear, but red, pink, yellow, orange and violet can also be found. Sizes over 1 carat are fairly common. Clarity ranges from heavily included, (hazy, fractures,) to IF or clear as ice. Our largest sapphire find to date was 23 carats but it was heavily included. Our cleanest was 11.5 ct, clean as ice.
The sapphires from Rock Creek in the Gem Mountain Region near Philipsburg traditionally are about the size of a pea or smaller. They are usually round in shape. Although larger stones can be found, most are under 1 carat in size. They can be found in all the colors of the rainbow. The most common colors are blues, greens & clear, but reds, pinks, yellows, oranges and violets are also commonly found. These sapphires also usually are very clear in their quality.
In the past we have even found some gold now and then, along with dinosaur teeth and bone, all types of fossils, and other types of gemstones occasionally.
Like any type of treasure hunt, you never know exactly what you will find. To ensure that every guest makes a find and enjoys their hunt, we add 10+ carats of rough Montana sapphires and garnet to the raw gravel.
Large gravel quantities and sapphire adds also available for large groups.
