Here is an amazing faceted benitoite gemstone.
Benitoite gemstones this size are becoming more rare with each passing year.
This gemstone has beautiful deep blue with violet coloring that is well saturated.
This gem is eye clean, using a 10X loupe you will find a slight veil that runs from the girdle into the table,
it is however well hidden and you must use magnification to see it, as you will see in the close up photos.
If not for this veil, the gem would be flawless and the asking price much higher.
This beauty has great fire in the sunlight.
For those of you that are not familiar with Benitoite, this gem is a true All American Gemstone!
All other species of minerals that gems are cut from, can be found in different locations either within this country or around the world.
However Gem Quality Benitoite is ONLY found in one very small area in California,
which is also why it is the California State Gemstone, and considered one of the, if not the, rarest gemstone in the world!
