Here is a great specimen from the Cave-in-Rock District in Illinois.
This etched Denton Mine fluorite is somewhat unusual.
It has pale, two generation fluorite, purple over yellow.
There are some micro chalcopyrite crystals on the surface and within.
It has 2 generations of calcite as well on the surface.
There are micro sphalerite crystals in areas, but it has 3 large, well-formed sphalerite crystals on one side.
The fluorite colors are pale but more pronounced when backlit.
It has some crazy fluorescence, with purple overall, with areas of yellow and orange internally,
and pink from the calcite.
Overall a very interesting specimen.
