Here is a wonderful piece of Mineral Collecting History.
Albert Edward Foote, [1846–1895], M. D., Naturalist,
was one of America's most famous early mineral dealers.
By the time of his death, he had the largest cataloged collection of minerals, most self collected.
After his death, his son Warren followed in his fathers footsteps, to brings specimens from around America and the world to collectors.
This specimen of Rose quartz is very nice.
You do not see specimens of Rose Quartz from South Datoka in the market today.
It has beautiful pink coloring and is very translucent throughout.
It has the "Foote" label attached to it and comes with the original collection box / base.
