Here is a unique specimen of this Orthoclase variety.
This specimen has some great provenance,
with it's earliest label being a fragile Columbia University label from turn of the century.
These are usually found in Alpine pegmatites.
The specimen is lightly covered in Clinochlore, giving it that green look.
The crystal mass not only shows twinning, but also multi inter-grown crystals.
There is one crystal face that has no clinochlore, which allows you a good look inside this gemmy crystal.
The clean face may actually be a cleave, but depending on the mounting position, it is a plus to give you that look inside this beauty.
It has some very slight bruising, nothing to take away from the look of this uncommon specimen.
