Sugilite is a rare, very complex lithium silicate.
This stunning specimen has shimmering chatoyant electric purple coloring and rare fibrous texture.
Although it appears fibrous, it is actually quite dense and only appears that way.
The sugilite is on the surface of the host rock, but also runs throughout the matrix.
The sugilite is on all side of the matrix.
