"Autumn" Cactus Spirit Quartz

This cactus quartz (also known as spirit quartz), comes from the early finds back in 2001.
This amazing quartz specimen has beautiful deeper amethyst coloring mixed with natural yellow goethite-included quartz crystals, which gives it the "Autumn" name.
These so called "Autumn" clusters were only found in the earliest of finds and are no longer found.
These days it is more common to see light purple cactus amethyst, rather than these deeper mixed colors.
Cactus Quartz, or Spirit Quartz, is a unique formation of Quartz that has only been found in this region of South Africa.
They are characterized by a core crystal structure having hundreds of smaller crystals growing along the center crystal faces.
Typically, the main top termination of the core crystals remain free of the "cactus" formation.
Typically, Cactus Quartz is found in varieties of Amethyst, Citrine, Smokey, and White Quartz.
This specimen has fantastic luster and clean terminations, with only very slight micro chips present, nearly impossible to see without magnification.
The base is cut flat for easy display.
Overall, this is quite a wonderfully aesthetic example.
